Focus on reduce, reuse, recycle (3R) is increasing. Just try and google the keywords and you will see a lot of websites dealing with the different aspects of reducing consumption, reusing used produce, and recycling of various raw materials. The 3R approach aims to minimize human impact on the finite amount of natural capital available on the earth. The following website is a 3R knowledge hub.
