This is the third policy dialogue so far. The first policy dialogue focused on themes pertaining green tax and budget reform and the second policy dialogue addressed the role of public policy in providing sustainable consumption choices. This time round, UNESCAP organises the third green growth policy dialogue. It will be held from the 5-7 June 2007 at the BITEC convention centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
The focus of discussions, presentations and exhibitions will be greening business, because it is essential that consumers and policy makers alike realise the hidden potential of the environment as an incrasingly lucrative business opportunity.
In order to reach a broad audience, UNESCAP has chosen to pair up with CMP Thailand and The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), who organise the large Entech/ Renewable energy exhibition in Bangkok from the 6-9 June 2007 (see links in the next paragraph). By being present with experts and policy makers from all over the Asia-Pacific region, UNESCAP brings policy makers into dialogue with exhibitors and participants from the private business sector. Together they will find out what excactly is needed to green businesses and make environment a real business opportunity in Asia-Pacific. |
